Work with Franklyn
I bring writing, faith, education, and careful listening into the places where people are making meaning: a book, a ceremony, a season of discernment, a classroom, or a community conversation.

Ceremonies
Personal ceremonies written with care for the people, relationships, and meaning at their centre.
I am an ordained minister and Marriage Commissioner, officiating weddings, elopements, vow renewals, baby blessings, baptisms, funerals, and celebrations of life. Each ceremony begins with conversation and is shaped around the people it will honour.
Ceremonies in detail
Weddings, Elopements and Vow Renewals
Weddings, elopements, and vow renewals begin with a conversation. I want to hear how you met, what matters to you, and what you want your ceremony to say about the life you are choosing together.
From that conversation, I write a ceremony that sounds like you.
Baptism and Blessings
Baptism is a sacrament of the church, for adults and children who belong to, or are joining, a faith community. I baptize within that context, never as a stand-alone rite. If baptism is what you are looking for, tell me about your congregation and I will help arrange it.
Blessings cover more ground: naming a child, welcoming a new home, opening a business, breaking ground, marking a boat or a set of tools. I meet with you first to shape a service around what the moment needs.
Funerals and Celebrations of Life
Funerals and celebrations of life hold grief and gratitude in the same room. I meet with the family in advance to learn about the person being remembered, then lead a service that gives their life its proper weight.
How a Ceremony Comes Together
- 1We talk.We meet by phone, video, or in person to discuss your ceremony, your people, and what matters to you.
- 2I prepare the ceremony.I draft the ceremony and send it to you. We revise it together until the words feel right.
- 3We gather. On the day, I arrive early, coordinate the ceremony, and guide it with warmth and care.
Tell me the kind of ceremony you are planning, the date, and where it will take place. I will reply personally to confirm my availability and arrange an initial conversation.

Spiritual Direction & Coaching
Thoughtful accompaniment for discernment, transition, ministry, and questions that require sustained attention.
Some seasons ask for careful attention before they ask for an answer. I offer spiritual direction and coaching for people discerning vocation, living through transition, carrying the demands of ministry, or seeking a more faithful relationship with their own life.
Direction and coaching in detail
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction attends to your life with God, spiritual practice, questions of meaning, and movements of consolation, resistance, desire, and discernment. It is reflective and open-ended.
I will not decide for you. I listen, ask careful questions, and help you notice the patterns, desires, convictions, and choices already present in your life.
Coaching
Coaching helps you clarify a goal, decision, role, habit, or transition. It supports practical movement through agreed actions and accountability. It is goal-oriented and usually time-bounded.
How sessions work
I meet with people in person on Prince Edward Island and online by video call, depending on where you are and what works for your schedule. Most people meet with me every two to four weeks, though we adjust that as we go. The first conversation is simply a chance for us to meet, for you to describe what is on your mind, and for us to decide together whether this is a good fit.
Spiritual direction and coaching are not psychotherapy, crisis care, or medical treatment. When another form of care is needed, I may recommend support from an appropriate qualified professional or emergency service.
Tell me what has brought you to spiritual direction or coaching and what you hope to explore. I will reply personally to arrange an initial conversation.
